A strategic station between France and Italy, Monaco-Monte-Carlo handles more than7 million passengers a year, with peaks during major events such asF1and theRolex Masters. Its underground configuration, tourist numbers and geographical position make it acritical infrastructure, managed bySNCF Hubs & Connexions.

🧬

Mutation.

Against a backdrop of urban densification, railway stations are evolving into lifestyle hubs welcoming millions of users. They are no longer mere transit points, but spaces to be finely controlled.

Priority.

SNCF Hubs & Connexions puts fluidity, safety and responsiveness at the heart of its strategy. Better anticipation of flows has become an operational imperative.

Vision .

With CORE, XXII deploys visual intelligence for railway stations. Every camera becomes a strategic sensor. Every piece of data an aid to decision-making.

The challenges.

The station is facing increasing pressure: rising passenger traffic, one-off events, ever more stringent safety requirements.
In this context, teams on the ground need to become more agile to maintain a high level of service, despite the unexpected.
It is becoming essential to understand flows in real time and to rely on reliable tools to maintain control, whatever the situation.

The solution.

The real challenge is to move away from a reactive management approach, which is often imposed, towards a proactive approach: anticipating peaks, smoothing traffic flows and strengthening coordination.
CORE was deployed in January 2024 with a clear objective: to better manage traffic flows, detect weak signals early on, and provide teams with immediate decision-making support to ensure safety, fluidity and serenity within the station.

Use cases.

Concrete uses for measurable results.

Case dusage_PUBLIC

Anticipate flows.

The Monaco-Monte-Carlo station, which is underground and subject to peaks in traffic (notably during the Grand Prix and Rolex Master events), required a real-time view of passenger movements. CORE now makes it possible to monitor traffic in each zone, detect slowdowns and alert teams before saturation. The result: greater responsiveness and smoother travel.

Cases dusage-13-2

Intelligent metering.

CORE automates the counting of passengers by zone and by time, at various key points (entrances, exits, transit zones). This data feeds reports, facilitates operational sizing, and improves inter-team coordination.

Case_LOGISTIQUE-1

Anomaly detection.

In a busy station, certain critical situations can go unnoticed: abandoned luggage, crowds, pedestrians standing still in sensitive areas, etc. CORE detects these weak signals in real time and triggers automatic alerts, saving operators precious time to intervene, secure the premises and reassure passengers.

Access to data in real time enables us to be much more reactive and to move towards proactive management, optimizing our decision-making capabilities.
